Description
The complete title should had been "What if: 1949 Ford Sportsman Victoria".
I got the inspiration from a recent article about the 1946-48 Ford and Mercury Sportsman of the magazine "Collectible Automobile" and the website "What if cars?" [link]
Ford, after WWII, taught of some ideas to jazz up its line-up of its 1946 models to inject some "pizzazz" for Ford as well as Mercury. They was inspired a bit by the Chrysler Town & Country of the era, a convertible built with some wood elements who was followed with a 4-door sedan and there was some hardtop prototypes made [link]
[link]
[link] (However Chrysler backed off from that plan and they introduced their hardtop in 1950 after GM introduced the Buick Roadmaster Riviera hardtop with success in 1949. [link]
Ford dropped the Sportsman after 1948 but we could wonder what if they continued the Sportsman for the all-new 1949 model year? And I taught to go a step further about what if they had introduced the Victoria hardtop in 1949 instead of 1951? Here the sketch I taught, the 1949 Ford Sportsman Victoria.
Here some good links about the Ford and Mercury Sportsman

Edit: Looks other peoples did their own 1949 Ford Sportsman
